Monday: (08/25) Another breaking day. I finished breaking out the concrete on the patio for one of the drain pipes about 20 feet long by 8 inches wide. It actually went much more quickly today, I’m not realy sure why? I also finished sawing some of teh concrete by where the bricks were. I’ll be […]
Saturday: (08/02) Dawn has several garden pots on a fence in the back yard growing herbs and such. She has cages over some of them to keep the squirrels out. This morning, Lou found this bird in one of the cages. It was happy to be released!
Sunday: (08/03) We visited Rancho San Antonio Park. […]
Sunday: (07/27) Rebuilt one of the cabinets in the laundry room to fit the new arrangement. This poor cabinet was reduced by 6 inches in width when installed previously and now lost another 6 inches with the new arrangement. Poor thing. I also installed the sink.
Monday: (07/28) We, mostly, finished moving back into the laundry […]
Thursday: We took highway 166 then up highway 101 to Pismo Beach. It was getting hot in Bakersfield and we were looking forward to the cooler, we hope, beach. We returned to our favorite campground, North Campground of Pismo Beach State Park. All our favorite sites were taken at the campground and it was a […]
Monday: Lou and I took a walk along the Valley View nature Trail then on up to the ridge. Along the ridge of the bluffs there is a trail of sorts but most of the way it’s like walking on a balance beam with an extremely steep drop off on either side of about 100-150 […]
Friday: We moved South to Red Rock Canyon State Park in Ricardo CG. I’m not sure why it’s called “red rock” because all the rocks around us are gray with only slight traces of any red? We’ll be here a couple of days.
As it turns out, they have a nice dump here at the […]
Wednesday: We moved down to a campground a few miles West of Lone Pine, Ca. Tuttle Creek campground is a BLM campground just above the Alabama Hills that are used so often in the movies. The wind is gusting quite a bit now so it’s nice to be setup in camp.
On the way […]
Sunday: We took our time preparing to leave. Most everyone in the campground here at Brown’s Town campground in Bishop is leaving today. We waited until the crowd left and the dump was free. Actually it was vacant, it cost $3 even though we were guests.
We fueled the RV and left town on highway 395. […]
Wednesday: We took highway 89 South from Woodfords to Highway 395. We intended to go out to Bodie, the ghost town, but highway 270 was closed so maybe we’ll go another time. With that road closed our night camp location also changed since we had no access to any of the BLM locations on that […]
Monday: We prepared to leave Reno. We did some detailed shopping in preparation for being in the boonies.
We took highway 395 South to Carson City. Kenzie looked around the State Museum there while Lou and I took a walk. We then continued on to Minden and got gas then headed South on Highway 88 to […]
